tore-40 ◊ 2016-09-27 08:39	Yes - and no. It's a conversion, I think, not made like this by VW, some kind of Hochdach Krankenwagen. Seen before, on a 1963 but alas no more info. No newer than MY1961 (round taillights)
Animatronixx ◊ 2022-10-23 15:23	I watched that episode yesterday and, of course, noticed this former ambulance - just to find out it's still nameless on IMCDb. It's a Clinomobil, probably converted to a camper. The Clinomobil-Hospitalwerke GmbH of Langenhagen/ Hannover built these VW-based Clinomobil ambulances, as well as the Clinocopter between approx. 1961 and 1967. The company was founded in 1954 (apparently supported by Auto Union) and filed for bankruptcy around 1967. Each Clinomobil cost DM 75.000,-. Further reading in German here.
