Pontiacs had staggered headlights too and the the 1977-79 Chevrolets didn't have the chrome center post like this one has. IT'S A 1978 PONTIAC CATALINA SAFARI 100% SURE NOW! These painted side mirrors were on all GM cars except Cadillacs (sport mirror option). The Caprice side markers extend behind the end of the front bumper while these don't. I'm sure it's a 1978 Pontiac Catalina, it has Pontiac hubcaps and the side markers arrive flush with the end of the bumpers. see the difference 1979 Caprice, note the side markers that extend behind the end of the front bumper and the standard chrome moulding on the lower front fender. Even more visible on this 1979 Caprice Estate, again, note the standard chrome trim on the lower front fender of the Caprice Estate and the parking ligt lens... The center post is body colored in the seventies Chevrolets while it was covered by a brushed chrome moulding on the Pontiacs. a 1978 Caprice, the side markers also extend behind the end of the front bumper. 1978 Catalina, note how the ribs are small on the side markers on the 1978 Catalina. The ribs are almost invisible on this 1978 Catalina Safari. This 1978 Catalina sedan has the available chrome center posts. These weren't available in the late seventies on the Caprice. 1979 Catalina Safari This is a 1979 Bonneville Safari, note the sport mirrors also available on the Catalina (and other GM cars) -- Last edit: 2007-03-23 13:21:28 (antp)
