How can You tell a '61 from a '62 Skylark. They had the same grille (unlike the other Buick Specials). |

You are correct about the grille, but you can tell the two years apart by the body style. In 1961, the Skylark was a sport-trimmed coupe sub model of the Special series. In 1962, it was a series in it's own right and came as a hardtop and a convertible. There was no '62 coupe version. The subject car appears to be a hardtop, the best I can tell. A closer photo would be useful to tell with more certainty. |
