If it was a real 1971 or 1972 car it should have rubber inserts in the overiders and the indicators/sidelights should be nearer the grille ( by the way, the grille was only changed in late 1969 for the 1970 model year ). Agree with the previous comments. Notice that the car is left hand drive. Both the movie and the 'movie within the movie' are shot in France, but the car is driven in the 'story' by a stuntman from England, who goes across to do the scene where the Triumph gets driven over the cliff. My guess is that it's a European spec MGB (i.e. non-North America, non-California, LHD) from between 1965 and 1969 with (fake?) K-reg UK plates on it. The K registration would bring it closer to the 1972 filming date (released 1973.) |
