No reference to Shelvoke and Drewry building Latil tractors in the Commercial Motor, however Grace's Guide indicates that in 1932 they produced the Latil tractor unit under licence until 1939. The Commercial Motor however clearly states that Latil Industrial Vehicles Ltd. 11 Albert Embankment London SE11 manufactured the 1932 Latil BT2 5-7 ton tractor and the 1933 Latil KTL 4x4 with four wheel steering, and the 'Traulier' at its London works at least until 1937. |

So either way we have Origin F, made in UK. I think keep the S&D reference in added info to attract attention in case there is more info out there. |

It appears only the KTL timber tractor was built by Shelvoke and Drewry, edit probably not the Traulier. Shelvoke and Drewry built between 150 and 175 of the KLT Timber Tractor under license in the UK from Latil of France. From November 1932 until production was transferred to the London based concessionaires in 1937, S & D produced between 150 and 175 of the French Latil KTL tractors. http://www.shelvoke-drewry.co.uk/Preserved.html http://www.shelvoke-drewry.co.uk/History.html http://tractors.wikia.com/wiki/Shelvoke_and_Drewry -- Last edit: 2016-07-12 18:48:43 |
