KEW 768 = early 1952. Alvis??

That date suggests TA 21.

Not sure, though, any other view?

Not Alvis TA21 that I can see, although Alvis did have the number plate on the bumper and had over riders as well. Where are its tail lights?

I tried various other 'traditionally' styled contemporaries I could think of and none matched.

No other view - just this static shot as bloke with box walks towards camera.

I'd say it is a Lagonda 2.6 Litre Saloon.

A tipp for those, who want to take the last train at the day:

park your car at the Lidl. Around the train station it's not for free and the Morrisons right behind has a gate, which may be closed after 22:00 or 23:00.

Good find fortengo. Lagonda was one I had not thought of. Odd as I used to see one of these regularly during the 1970s.

I spent some time following a wild goose on this one, no excuse I know but.........

KEW 770, only two cars away in the great book of registration numbers, is a Bentley Mark VI Standard Steel Saloon. The agent for Bentleys in the Peterborough area, from where the index originates, is Murkett Brothers who now sell Vauxhalls. Entranced by this information, and the resemblance of the front wing profile to a Mk VI, and the very Bentley like dashboard mounted driving mirror I spent a long time going through my books trying to find similar coachwork on a Mk VI.

Of course I failed.

I then resorted to looking for Murkett's history, hoping to find the other marques they may have sold.

I failed again.

Confessions of a car spotter.

If it's any consolation, I wasted a lot of time digging around Lea-Francis and Lanchester. Then gave up without looking further in the Ls.
