Also used by the visiting food expert from the Ministry of Being Helpful, but I don't think it's the same car as /vehicle_922898.html , although might be the same type?? It looks blacker and the grille muff seems different??

BDL 118 was Isle of Wight (!), 1937.

Why the surprise about DL being the Isle of Wight registration letters? IoW is a populous and prosperous area, supporting, inter alia, Southern Vectis Bus Company and many touring coach operators, as well as private cars. BDL indicated 12,000 registrations by 1937, Burton-on-Trent had only reached 6587 by that year, and Zetland 1160.
