1992+ with this side window treatment. The early ones had two long horizontal windows, à la Renault Express, but it was quickly changed to this by Nissan's subsidiary Autech, to allow people in wheelchairs a better view of the outside. http://www.autech.co.jp/history/lv/IMAGES/admax_enchante_revolve_main.jpg That's something that impressed me back then. It showed japanese manufacturers cared. Meanwhile, in Europe, small vans like the Renault Express had to be modified - not by Renault themselves - with a higher roof and larger windows, giving an unfortunate "Popemobile" look to the final product. |
