We have had hiccups before between French plate issue dates and the cars they're seen on - both plate older than car and car older than plate - due to various quirks and loopholes in their system. I don't know how these all work, simply that they exist, so caution needed before accepting the dates as gospel. But for this one, it's probably fair enough.

Differently from the Italian site, the French site works also with pre-2009 plates but only if they are still in use: so they are not many, mainly because in France cars are required to be re-registered if they move to a different department.
