'Unk' What a strange name for a car

I think it might be some type of Studebaker.

Its a 32 Rockne...built by Studebaker to compete in the low end of the market.

I think the grill is wrong for a 1932. For a '32 see: http://www.trombinoscar.com/studebaker/sb320101.jpg

It is a 1932 Rockne Six Panel Van.These commercials aimed at the light van market were based on the Rockne Six series 65 sedans made and distributed by Studebaker. They had a standard roof rack above the cabin in front of the loading box.Rocknes were produced from mid-1931 to end 1933.

This is probably the same exact vehicle used on Hogan's Heroes for Oscar Shnitzer's 'Tierarzt' truck shown here /movie.php?id=58812 . The set appears to be on the so-called "40 acre lot" owned by Desilu, during the filming of HH, The Andy Griffith Show, Gomer Pyle USMC, and many others TV shows and movies.

There never was a 1931 Rockne. The first Rockne was a 1932 Model '65' that came off the line in Detroit in December 1931. This example is a 1933 Rockne Model "10"; not a Commander, though the Vail/Cole designed engine did become the Studebaker Commander Six engine several years later.
wrenchhead's attached photo is of a 1932 Rockne Model "75"; pretty much an entirely different animal. The Model "75" was based upon the Studebaker Six. The Model "10" was a smaller and completely different vehicle stem to stern.

One of two known to exist; this Rockne Delivery is currently owned by a gentleman from Seattle; and IS the same one used in the episode of "Hogan's Heroes."
