Something more special with such bumpers? |

No, there weren't any special bumpers for the metal-bumper Polo I and no special edition either. This is a basic version -see the badge-, homemade pimped by the not wealthy owner. Does the bumpers have overriders? These were available for some VW-models aftersales market by VOTEX. As it seems, for the Polo, too. I cannot check it, as my newesr extra option brochures are from 1974 -- Last edit: 2016-03-06 21:33:52 |

So she/he (the owner!) repainted them black? I couldn't find any with black bumpers. Yes there are also overriders. |

Repainting is not unlikely, maybe they were shabby (the basic version-bumpers were painted grey, not chromated), or as a trick to get the modern 1979+ plastic look. I'm unsure, if there were black aftersales market bumpers for the Polo, too. For the metal-bumper Golf I there were some. If they exist, they were useless anyways - because made by Van Weezel. Back in the 70ies and 80ies Van Weezel-made aftersales market body parts were absolute junk. So for example the Golf- and Polo wings were sometimes 1cm too long or sometimes 2cm too short. If you throw that scrap in front of the feet of the freaks, they will not pick it up. -- Last edit: 2016-03-06 21:50:06 |

Ingo, there was a special edition called "Jeans Polo" back in 1976 for the German market only. |
