This is an old telephone company van. Southwestern Bell keeps pulling these graphics. From my research they used [E-100] vans. Unless someone can find evidence they used [E-200] I'll gladly change the chassis.

This is actually a 1970 model, because of its 1969–70 grille but its 1970–74 rectangular side markers.

While it may have started life as a Bell System van, it was no longer in service by the time production of this episode began. It was repainted. They did a pretty good job of replicating the original two-tone paint scheme and livery, but there are some key details that they missed. For one, the separating line between the Bell White and Bell Grey-Green should be underneath the Bell Ochre (yellow) stripe, not right on top of the Bell Blue stripe. In other words, the exposed hinges on the exterior should be white. The wheels and hubcaps should also be painted Bell Grey-Green.

Finally, the absence of any Bell System logos is a giveaway that this isn't the real deal. The lettering is also in a different font from Helvetica (which was used on the real vans), and it reads "ATLANTIC & CHESAPEAKE Telephone Company". There was no such thing, but production probably tried to make something up that sounded like an amalgam between Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone (ironically shortened to "C&P Telephone" on the real vans) and Bell Atlantic, a post-Bell-System-breakup "Baby Bell" company that later became Verizon.

Like I said, it's very possible that this van started life as a real Bell System van but was later repainted. When the vans were originally retired from service, they were often intentionally defaced. If someone wanted to make them look original again, they would have likely had to do some repainting.

I don't know whether it was an E-100, E-200, or E-300 (the real Econolines never came with the emblems on the driver and passenger doors), but I do know it was a Display Van (that's what Ford called the version with no windows on the driver's side but windows everywhere else).

How do I know all this? I'm the owner of a rare 1974 Ford Econoline E-200 Display Van which was originally ordered by Pacific Northwest Bell in Eugene, Oregon.

Here are several other screenshots of the van in this episode: https://imgur.com/a/DAq4kcu
