Nice picture :P Hey! I've got a great idea, let's play a game called "can you spot the car?" First one who can find the car in this photograph wins! -- Last edit: 2007-02-21 18:01:37 |

Don't would feed any polemics, but, believe or not,on a "World Cars 1976/77"annual Fiberfab was listed thru German Makes and for years I had thought was German-made,not American(don't put doubts about former nationality, but I think that the Avenger and the Bonito--the name that quotes junkman--is the same car, built simply with different names in different times...and in different Countries,USA former,Germany later) |

Yes but origin of Fiberfab is american and start production of complete kits in 1965 , the german subsdiary, known as Fiberfab-Europa at the beginnig, start the production in Heilbronn with the Aztec model in 1966 (model 67) |

The Bonito and Avenger are definately not the same car. The Avenger clearly was designed in the US and when the production was migrated to Germany, the Avenger was quickly replaced by the Bonito, which utilized many more European sourced parts than the Avenger, to make it more appealing for the European customers, who often built the cars themselves from kits and therefore had to source the following items from scrapyards: Complete VW Beetle Chassis Windscreen off a Ford Taunus 12m P6 Backlight off an Opel Rekord C Coupe (or Commodore A Coupe, what a shame...) Headlights off a Ford Taunus 15m P6 Taillights off a VW Karmann Ghia Typ 34 Turn signal lights off an Audi 100 S Coupe Windscreen wipers and mechanism off a VW 1500/1600 Typ 3 Rear bumper off a Mercedes-Benz /8 [W114] Door handles are two engine lid handles off VW Baywindow Buses Dashboard padding off an Opel Kadett B Sun visors off an Opel Kadett B Glove box off an Opel Kadett B Ok, folks, try to get the lot together nowadays. First one who succeeds I'll buy a beer... |
