Why? |

What do you mean "why"? /vehicle_675125-AEC-Reliance-1979.htmlDifferent bodywork, different grille. |

Because this bodywork was used on the chassis of several makers, you obviously know little of how coaches are built. Firstly, the operator may choose a chassis maker according to his likes or preferences, size needed, type of use envisaged, and then he may go to a coachbuilder to order bodywork suitable for his and the chassis' parameters. Choices of chassis can be found here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaxton_Supreme Please, also, try to identify the coachbuilder as well as the chassis for completeness of record. -- Last edit: 2016-01-25 18:17:23 |

GIL 2150 is a Black 1990 Austin first registered in Fermanagh on 2 April 1990. (maybe FX4??). GIL 2160 was a Ford Escort Diesel ...... |

Why not a Leyland Leopard? /vehicle_873178-Leyland-Leopard.html |

Or a Bristol LH6L? /vehicle_642596-Bristol-LHS-6L-1982.html |

Or (possibly) a Bedford VAS? /vehicle_68990-Bedford-VAS.html |

Now you know, Gamer, why I asked "Why?". Because we still don't know which chassis is under that Plaxton Supreme. -- Last edit: 2016-01-25 19:14:16 |

I'd be impressed if it was a Ward Dalesman: Link to "www.aronline.co.uk" (interesting story, even to someone not interested in buses). |

It would be a find. How about a time travelling Ward Dalesman with Roe Dalesman coachwork? That would be fun! https://www.flickr.com/photos/emdjt42/16749032834 -- Last edit: 2016-01-25 19:58:59 |

Oh, come on - didn't anyone notice the badge above the grille?! It's a Plaxton Supreme IV-bodied Leyland Leopard PSU5C/4R delivered new to Mayne, Manchester, as MRJ 360W in April 1981. |

Showed up as just a grey smudge on my iPad! At least it's stopped the uninformed guesswork. Later, it didn't allow interpretation on my laptop either, perhaps I need a desktop with a 50 inch monitor and some new glasses. -- Last edit: 2016-01-26 11:31:45 |

The script is barely legible on both my iPad and laptop, so there's no need. If the coach was displaying the blue triangle of an AEC, it would have made things much simpler! |

It has a Leopard badge above the grille. It's also still carrying the Mayne livery. Mayne didn't have any AEC with this Plaxton body. |
