Actually, the car is white, not yellow. It's a 1967 Cadillac "De Ville" series Hardtop coupe, style #68347 (you can just barely make out the "De Ville" script at the far end of the rear fender, above the side spear). |

This scene was a based on the murder of William "Billy Bats" Bentvena who was bashed and kicked and then later stabbed by Thomas DeSimone and Jimmy Burke in the boot of Henry Hill's Pontiac LeMans at a secluded area in Connecticut on the night of the 11th June 1970. In reality, Bentvena was at the Suite Lounge in the Jamaica section of Queens and while he was in prison, Burke took over Bentvena's loan sharking operation and Bentvena wasn't happy about it and was complaining to Joseph Gallo, an associate in the Gambino Mob about wanting his operation back, so Burke with the help of DeSimone then walked Bentvena into the corner of the bar where he was then bashed and kicked until he was unconscious and was later was placed into the boot of Henry Hill's car. While driving along the Van Wyck Freeway from the bar, Burke, DeSimone and Hill heard banging from the boot and when they pulled off the freeway, they went to the boot and saw that Bentvena was alive, so they went to the home of DeSimone's mother where they got a knife, lime and a shovel and then drove to the property of an associate of Burke; just across the New York-Connecticut state line where Burke and DeSimone then stabbed Bentvena repeatedly before disposing his body and covering it in lime. About six months later in late December 1970, early January 1971, Burke found out that his associate had sold the property to allow the construction of a condominium complex, so Burke, DeSimone and Hill drove back to the property and dug up Bentvena's decomposed body and then according to Hill, drove to a rubbish dump in New Jersey where they disposed the body through a mechanical compactor. Billy Bats' and the later murder of Ronald "Foxy" Jerothe who was shot by DeSimone at Jerothe's apartment in Ozone Parks, Queens on the 12th December 1974 led to the Gambino Mob to kill DeSimone as both Billy Bats and Foxy Jerothe were made men in the Gambino Mob. -- Last edit: 2022-12-25 07:07:37 |
