Fake plate. Seen several times in eps 2 & 3 Ep2 Ep3 (including main) |

Not exactly sure what it's based on, but as the top of it says, it's got a Geesink Norba refuse body on it. Now, Googling Geesink Norba bin lorries comes up with various ones on Dennis, Mercedes-Benz, Seddon Atkinson, DAF, and other truck chassis. This cab, though...I've never seen one like this before, and the closest thing I can think of it an older (80's, perhaps) ERF with some modifications made to the cab by Geesink Norba. |

that is exactly what i can confirm! |

It's just "Norba", not "Geesink Norba", as the buyout occured in 2000. I've also found a fleet list of RCVs on Edinburgh's website, but it's too recent to include this mystery lorry : Link to "www.edinburgh.gov.uk" |

they have Mercedes Econic in Edinbourgh and this prototype seems to be inspired by low floor concept, put on conventional chassis. |

It is in fact our first Britannia, a Jack Allen design built by the renowned bus coachbuilders Walter Alexander in Falkirk and mounted on a Seddon-Atkinson chassis. http://maltabuses.piwigo.com/index?/category/112-britannia |

So where does Norba fit?? What should be put in added info?? |
◊ 2016-01-22 00:06 |
Norba is the manufacturer of the bodywork. I would suggest listing it as 'Britannia on Seddon-Atkinson chassis, Norba bodywork' or something to that effect. |

http://commercialmotor.com/big-lorry-blog/the-britannia-refuse-truck-sto and http://commercialmotor.com/big-lorry-blog/the-britannia-story-in-full-pa both enlightened me and confused me. But I think we have a new make |

Did they all have a front end that looked damaged? |
◊ 2016-01-22 00:44 |
Yes, that was standard on all vehicles that left the factory while dsl worked there as chief engineer. |
◊ 2016-01-22 00:56 |
The extra info looks good to me, though what is the significance of FWD? |
◊ 2016-01-22 01:00 |
FWD = Front With Damage.(Actually I found it in one of my links above). @cl82 - what are you on?? Can I try some too please? |
◊ 2016-01-22 02:10 |
Ah, it's referring to the pictured lorry being front-wheel drive rather than a model name. I'd happily go with Front With Damage, though. |

@dsl: Sorry to disappoint you, but actually I'm stone sober. I just have a pretty nasty cold right now. I hope that's a good enough excuse. |
◊ 2016-01-22 12:50 |
How come if it's front wheel drive there is no differential housing in the front axle? |
◊ 2016-01-22 12:55 |
The movie vehicle appears to be a normal rear wheel drive layout to me? Similar to this... "This vehicle is an interesting blend of modern technology, combining as it does the recently-developed Britannia crew-cab and Perkins Phaser engine with the well proven Seddon Atkinson M24P18 municipal chassis.." CM Road test Britannia/Seddon Atkinson but with Colectomatic body. "Jack Allen and its subsidiary Britannia Trucks both use Seddon Atkinson's popular 4x2 and 6x4 municipal chassis-cabs." The front-wheel drive concept vehicle developed by Bass breweries and Chassis Developments of Dunstable. Link to "archive.commercialmotor.com" -- Last edit: 2016-01-22 13:14:37 |

Britannia on the Seddon Atkinson 200-Series (the 211 when available) truck chassis, from May 1986. There will be a choice of chassis cab models. Two will be available on 16.26 tonne GVW chassis, one with a 2.18m narrow cab and the other of a standard 2.49m width. A third standard cab will be offered on a 24.39 tonne GVW three-axled chassis which is also available at 20 tonne GVW with Granning third axle conversion. Link to "archive.commercialmotor.com" |

I was referring to the front-wheel drive vehicle developed for Bass Brewery, pictured in this article, not the lorry listed here. |

^ kudos, no problem. It served to fire-up further investigation! The challenge now is to find if that front wheel drive concept vehicle made any film appearances? |

Get well soon. And choose your cough mixture carefully ... |
◊ 2016-01-22 21:58 |
I highly recommend the authentic DPRK-anti-cough-crusher: https://imageshack.com/i/9eimg2322gkj It's only the garlic -fresh and spicy- and the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_bean_paste (also the spiciest version), The German strawberry-jam I've only placed, because it was too bizarre, to find everywhere in North Korea German products. No kidding, this medicine really works! After two, three hours my cold (mainly extreme hoarseness) was completely gone! P.S. Being stone sober is not the best idea, when you habe a cold. Sometimes, when I have a really bad cold, I mix the anti-cold-pills with red wine. Then I can find my sleep. |

That may be quite a challenge seeing as it's taken us almost twelve years to find one standard Britannia! -- Last edit: 2016-01-22 22:15:03 |

Eight years later we have found another ! /vehicle_1887546-1987.html |

Norba built the thing (dust bin collecting device) behind the cabin but above the chassis. |
