More likely a 1941-47 (1941-46, for this movie) Chevrolet 'Art Deco', due to the louvers on the hood side. A GMC CC-Series (1941-42) / EC-Series (1946-47) would have a thick "spear" saying General Motors Truck at this location: (GMC / Chevrolet) Due to the hubcaps, I'd say that this chassis + cowl van is made on a ½-ton basis (115"/2.92 m wheelbase / Light Delivery model name / 3102 model code) or on a ¾-ton one (125¼"/3.18 m wheelbase / Three-Quarter-Ton model name / 3602 model code). Whatever the model year ("old" 1941-42 or brand new 1946), the presence of such a specific model in Germany in 1946 is amazing. Was is imported by/for US troops? Where does this scene take place? ⇒ 1941 Chevrolet? // Class: Cars, Van/MPV? (without model name/code, unless sure of the wheelbase: 'Art Deco' is just a name later given by fans) -- Last edit: 2016-01-09 20:28:36 |

Natürlich. I found strange the use of C instead of Z for Cigaretten, but forgot foolishly the German speaking part of Switzerland Anyway, and from what I know, having a chassis + cowl model from this truck line in Europe was really unusual, not to say that it is a one-off piece. -- Last edit: 2016-01-09 20:51:29 |

Lower grille looks to run horizontal like GMC |

Chevrolet was more likely sold in Europe, and the louvers indicate unambiguously a Chevrolet model. Maybe is there a cache on the grille, although the scene seems to take place during summer: "normal" grille of Chevrolet and GMC models would be a bit bigger, while this one stops before the bumper.. |
