According to a number of sources this image show Louis Chevrolet driving a De Dion-Bouton in 1901 in Brooklyn. Should we assume that this is an American made 1901 De Dion Motorette? |

If it is an American-built car it is 3 1/2 hp Brooklyn Motorette - it seems 3 1/2 hp was the only size built. The Standard Catalog says that several other firms imported De Dions around this time though so there is no guarantee it is an American one but as the factory was in Brooklyn where this pic was taken I guess it is possible that it is. |
