JB there doesn't seem to be any official fire truck version of M939 but it's likely a civilan conversion of ex military truck |

JB this doesn't like a fire truck to me , no pumping unit or hoses visible it's a chassis cab with something on it, more a carrier truck like this just repainted red http://olive-drab.com/images/id_m945_02_cariboo_700.jpg -- Last edit: 2015-12-19 21:51:10 |

@ mike962: It appears that both M944 and M945 use the extra-long wheelbase (215"/5.46 m): see an M944 in pictures here, an M945 here. See also Olive-drab or Trucks Planet websites. But this truck doesn't really seem to have this longest wheelbase. The information is scarce about which wheelbase (short 167"/4.24 m wheelbase, long 179"/4.54 m version and extra-long 215" one) is used by which chassis-cab model (M939 to M945), even in the operator's manual, so it's certainly better to have this truck with M939 as default identification, as it is both the generic name for this truck line and the "entry-level" for chassis-cab models. -- Last edit: 2015-12-22 03:14:54 |
