Is that the Chevrolet bowtie at the grille at the last thumbnail provided by anjei?

@cougartim: Flxible purchased Southern Coach in 1963, making this vehicle somewhat of an anachronism since the show is set in '62 yet this not-even-made-yet Flxible Step Van is clearly already an aged rustbucket.

@rjluna2: Yes, it's a Chevy bowtie:

My guess is that it's indicative of the engine used, as there's another variant of the Step Van out there with a GMC badge, as seen in Matlock:

I can't imagine it's indicating the chassis, as that would likely require more modification to the body, but I could be wrong.

It's not just a matter of chassis. Southern Coaches after the purchasing were sold under the Flxible brand.

The emblems indicate the chassis engine configuration. Chevy parcel chassis were sold to many US van body manufacturers. Note this 1958 Chevy van chassis brochure which depicts body manufacturers that utilize the Chevy Chassis and engines [Image: stepvanarray.jpg]
