Just in Germany they are countless of them, BMW, Messerschmitt, Junkers, Henschel, Volkswagen, Simson and many more. At least every company in the machine- and technology-industries.

And Zündapp had its military heritage even right in its name. @Gamer: Thanks for the link! I knew that vehicle before. To be honest: I actually find the design quite charming.
