large side windows, smaller fron window, so 1964 I'd say.

The snow on side windows is cheating, that's why they're look larger.
For me it has 1958+ bodyshell.

I can see the Wolfsburg badge at front of the bonnet, 130rapid may be correct.

1958-62?

^^@ingo: Strange then, as they were all enlarged for the 1965 model year. German bodyshells, that is.

Indicators from 1960 to 1964 (you could find 1960 with trafficators or indicators, and 1964 with these or the later larger ones) but these are amber, usually MY1961 onwards. Wolfsburg badge present, can't tell if black or blue from here, so no later than an early MY1963 (10/62). So, no 1964, @ingo.

1961-1963, either as 1961-62 VW Limousine Export or 1962-63 VW 1200 Limousine Export (they probably added 1200 to match the new 1500)

Indeed, forget the names  Thanks for the reminder. 1958-63 if they followed US indicator changes, 1960+ if not. 1960+ door handle? 1960-63 then.

 are you sure about 1958+? IMO the side window are too large for that - there weren't different size for different export-markets, or :??: In Germany the pillars of the Typ1, especially the B-pillar were thicker, because of the semaphores. IIRC they were mounted until ca.1960.

Indicators optional US,Canada,Guam April 1st 1955 (Bullet type. Note to myself: Needs verfiying) The last models lost their trafficators August 1st 1960 (MY1961. Note to myself: Check dates) Windows were enlarged all around for MY1965 but some markets (like the Australian built) kept the old body longer, right? Compare main image with /vehicle_595896-Volkswagen-Sun-Roof-Sedan-Typ-1-1966.html (It's the other side, but still) and at least the space between side window and the molding below can be compared. If the doors were to be changed (these are the older model, vertical vent window) then the size of windows would be different, here the door and side windows are the same size. The windscreen is also much smaller than in the 1965+. From what I've read, they used summer vacation for changing to the new tools.

As an impartial, non-expert on VM matters, I agree about the smaller side window in the door, and the greater distance between glass and door moulding.
Also the quarter-lite, for me is noticeably more rounded at the corner near the mirror, than this later example /vehicle.php?id=195836.
