The absence of the double chrome trim between the front grille and the headlights identifies a Coupé (looking closely at the open door and the detail of the rear side window - it's too slim to be a B-pillar - also helps the identification). From this angle, it's difficult to know the version, but all Coupés were SE and this type of body was introduced in 1961. -- Last edit: 2007-02-15 02:53:01 |

in 1961, it was the 220SE coupé |

It can also be a 1962 300 SE Coupé... Better to simply list it as 1962 SE or 1962 Coupé I think. Or is the 300 SE rare enough to suppose that this one is more likely a 220 SE ? Same question for the other W111 listed with just "Coupé"/"Cabriolet" as model name: /vehicle_76254-Mercedes-Benz-Coupe-W111-1961.html /vehicle_60444-Mercedes-Benz-Cabriolet-W111.html -- Last edit: 2007-02-14 23:43:42 |

A 300 SE coupé, should have chromes stripe on the side, and along the wheels arch...unfortunately, this operetta sailor man hide the view on this ![]() |

Why did you delete Coupé...it's part of the name! /vehicles_make-Mercedes-Benz_model-220+SE+Coup%E9.html -- Last edit: 2007-02-14 23:49:46 |

sorry, a mistake, I edited it to only "coupé" at the same time as you changed it I guess, I reverted the other name after posting my message, but forgot a part. -- Last edit: 2007-02-14 23:54:41 |
