It was a RS. Which Clarkson (dunno if he was that serious) that was the second best trim level. However, it was the base model with the optional V8. I even recall them having 2.4L Iron Duke I4 engines as standard for a little while in the 1980s. He (Clarkson) claimed RS meant 'Rally Sport'. Not that Camaro and rally have anything in common whatsoever. |

It does stand for Rally Sport (and has since the first generation). GM (or really, any of the big three) aren't big on correctly using terms, they just care that it sounds cool (GTO? Trans Am - which, with the 400c.i. engine, wasn't eligible for Trans Am racing, etc.). They also stated in the show that it was an '89, right? |

At the end they said that it was a 1989. But on the window the dealer wrote "1991" and it had an airbag which came in 1990. |

1992. 1992 brought a restyled front end, b/c GM was waiting to redesign the Pontiac Firebirds and Chevy Camaros. So 1993 Camaros and Firebirds were really 1992 1/2'S. |

its a 91... it has the airbag (90+) and they mention in the show that there was a title problem where it was listed as an 89 but was really a 91 |
