Plate is AB 1234 format, but can't read it. They get their coaches in a mess in the film - I think all these captures during last 10 minutes are same as main

But there's also this single sequence

of something different pretending to be the same, and is probably much newer with concertina doors ahead of the front wheel. They'd have been better off chopping that bit because it adds nothing.

Operating for Starks of Dunbar. I'm almost certain of this being SS 9615 (A4) an Alexander-bodied AEC Reliance MU3RV delivered new in May 1955: Link to "stuarts-world-buses.smugmug.com"

Nice ID. The plate could easily be SS xxxx onscreen.

Thanks! :sun: Looking at the wheels, the second bus is also an AEC - quite possibly another Reliance - though I'm afraid that's as much as I can offer so far. My first thought was an early Alexander Y-Type body, though the low nearside fog light suggests otherwise.

My only other contribution is that, given the apparent lack of a relief band, it is more likely to be a Scottish Motor Traction vehicle than one owned by Starks.

The 2nd bus 4th thumb has 2 lines of very blurred white print (they're not trim strips) which looks the sort of writing which might say something like Scottish Motor Traction with an address as the second line.

Indeed - it's known as legal lettering. Taking a closer look, I believe it reads 'Scottish Omnibuses Ltd.' on the first line and 'New Street, Edinburgh' on the second, indicating that the footage was filmed in the early sixties after the Eastern Scottish name was adopted and the livery was changed to a darker shade of green with only a small cream relief band above the waistline. The last thumb also shows the fleet number, with the last letter representing the depot code. In this case, I believe it's a Musselburgh-allocated (W) vehicle, which would be correct for the filming location of Newcraighall.
