The Country more nearest to South-Africa where were assembled CKD-Fiat cars was Zambia;being that in South Africa were assembled only 124,125,128,132,believe that was probably a Zambian-assembled Regata by Livingstone Motors Ltd.(they would assembly also 131) -- Last edit: 2007-02-09 22:37:10 |

It appears to be left hand drive, going by the windscreen wipers. Zambia drives on the left, so cars assembled there would be right hand drive. -- Last edit: 2007-02-11 00:34:14 |

This is where discovering the website of a South African action vehicle company pays off, because they own this car. ![]() It's definitely left hand drive, and they list it as a 'Fiat Mistral'. http://www.motoprop.co.za/pdetails.asp?vehicle_id=499 -- Last edit: 2007-02-12 00:15:40 |

Not made for South Africa, because it's left hand drive. |

But made for South Africa, because it has a different name ![]() |

The name listed by the company (now defunct/taken over) was probably wrong. IIRC they had a Ford Mondeo in their list of American cars. ![]() -- Last edit: 2009-07-09 14:16:14 |

There is another ZA website with "Fiat Mistral": http://www.iprops.co.za/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=202 but it may be the same source? ![]() also http://cybercapetown.com/Exoticar/european_sedans.php but again it is cars for hire ![]() As there does not seem to be other reliable source, it is probably an error as you suggest it. -- Last edit: 2009-07-09 14:48:36 |

Fiats were not sold in South Africa at the time the Regatta was produced. Any Regatta/Mistral would have been privately imported. |
