Begins a carrousel of big fat American cars with the risk of doubles, be warned. |

If they were that bad why were they were so popular in other countries? Because of the available interior space that European cars with their restricted engine size limits could not provide. -- Last edit: 2015-10-12 22:00:28 |

These two could be either 1952 or 1953. The front bumpers are the distinguishing feature and they are not clear here. |

Is this comment for me? I never said they were bad! Maybe you misunderstood my "big fat"—simple characterization, a tad pleonastic, though. Usually in European (specially French) movies, these cars provide at least gorgeous pictures. But we are in Argentina, here. |

Perhaps you didn't mean it, but your opening comment did sound a bit pejorative. I took it as a criticism when I first read it, too. |

"Pejorative", sir? "Criticism"? But who would I be to take such a foolish risk? Naaah… Peace, friends… Let's sing together… ♪ Cadillac, Cadillac Long and dark, shiny and black Open up your engines let 'em roar Tearing up the highway like a big old dinosaur ♫ (Ts-ts, Bruce… did you say "big old dinosaur"?) |

You didn't see many American built cars in UK, two reasons, too thirsty, and we had Ford and Vauxhall to provide vehicles from American industry. You don't see many now, except for some awful Chrysler junk, and Daewoos with Chevrolet badges on. -- Last edit: 2015-10-12 23:40:00 |

Re John's last comment, the proliferation of small cars with Chevrolet badges is just Chevrolet returning to its roots as the lowest price car in the GM range. |

But now Chevrolet is leaving the European market... |

Apologies to the USA, I forgot the Jeeps. They seem quite popular as a sort of entry level Land Rover, but my neighbour has recently swapped his for a Kia. |
