Distinctive hood louvres - Hudson inspired but I think the car is German. here is a 1932 Horch 430 with the same louvres. - http://www.history-of-cars.com/images/horch/430-32-002.jpg |

I agree with Horch (hood figure!). The model could be any of the 8 cylinder models between 1926 and 1935 where the the 430 is one option. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horch_8 |

The chassis code should be [8]. The Horch 8-family consisted of the following models: - Horch 303 - Horch 304 - Horch 305 - Horch 306 - Horch 350 - Horch 375 - Horch 400 - Horch 405 - Horch 410 - Horch 420 - Horch 430 - Horch 440 - Horch 450 - Horch 470 - Horch 480 - Horch 500/500 A - Horch 500 B - Horch 710 - Horch 720 & 750 - Horch 780 After excluding all models that were only available with a solid roof, the following models are left: - Horch 303 - Horch 304 - Horch 305 - Horch 306 - Horch 350 - Horch 375 - Horch 400 - Horch 410 - Horch 420 - Horch 430 - Horch 450 - Horch 470 - Horch 480 - Horch 500/500 A - Horch 500 B - Horch 710 - Horch 720 & 750 - Horch 780 Some more models could be excluded by looking at the wheels, as the earliest models had old spoke rims, while later models had more modern rims (like the one in the main pic). After excluding all models with the old rims, the following ones were left: - Horch 375 - Horch 400 - Horch 410 - Horch 420 - Horch 430 - Horch 450 - Horch 470 - Horch 500/500 A - Horch 500 B - Horch 720 & 750 - Horch 780 Now, looking at the side louvres, some other models could also be exluded. These are the remaining possibilities: - Horch 410 - Horch 420 - Horch 430 - Horch 450 - Horch 470 - Horch 500/500 A - Horch 750 - Horch 780 The way the spare wheels are integrated into the fenders (and also the fenders itself) was also changed over the years, which helps excluding some more models. These are left afterwards: - Horch 410 - Horch 420 - Horch 430 - Horch 450 - Horch 470 - Horch 500/500 A Clearly, the car in the main pic has front suicide doors. Looking at pictures of different Horch 8 convertibles, it seems some models were built with suicide doors, while others didn't. After excluding the non-suicide doors cars, these remain: - Horch 450 - Horch 500/500 A Now, with only two models left, here are the different possible body styles: - Horch 450 Pullman-Cabriolet - Horch 450 Cabriolet (4-door) - Horch 500/500 A Pullman-Cabriolet Looking at the spare wheel again, I think we can exclude the Horch 500, as its wheels looked more detailed and "posh": Link to "www.google.de" So, to come to a conclusion, I'd say this is a 1931 Horch 450 Pullman-Cabriolet [8] Here's a similar car: http://www.history-of-cars.com/php/horch/1931-typ-450.php |
