Not [RD7] as it's in EU, just [RD] without knowing the engine |

Same thing happens for the US. We have a ton of [RD1] when we received the [RD2 & RD3] motors... |

Then there is no point in adding the code. The reason to add them is to be able to separate the generations, which is why we were using RD1 and RD7. |

Our codes are wrong then. [RD1/2/3] pertains to 1996-2001. [RD4/5/6/7/8/9] pertains to 2002-2006. Picking [RD1] for mk1 and [RD7] for mk2 is inaccurate at best. |

US had more than one engine in the CR-V ? -- Last edit: 2021-02-05 22:02:48 |

Codes are another one of those things people seem to ignore why they were used in the first place (as a way of grouping individual generations as you say), maybe they are only useful for European cars where there is a genuine code or codename for a single generation? Hondas aren't too problematic (there aren't really codes that end up used on a couple of examples), but on other makes there are now examples where there are codes that are used on more than one generation (which is plain useless) or that are just so complex there's only 1 person here that can actually understand them (which is very problematic). |
