Let's make it Studebaker, like all the others we have. |

Apparently a mid-December 1942 through early March 1943 "African" cab... if a Studebaker model. But I think that the wheel arches would have a more vertical rear part and that they don't seem to be square-shaped enough. And the cowl of a Studebaker truck doesn't have that horizontal molding (at the top, between the windshield and the hood): As all Studebaker soft-top cabs models were apparently send to U.R.S.S. (10,000 trucks. See the link above) and as this open cab was also used for the GMC CCKW, couldn't it be this latter? If so, as long wheelbase Cargo model, a 1942+ GMC CCKW 353 Cargo? (The 3rd "sibling", i.e. the International Harvester M-5H-6 has too round wheel arches to be kept among the possibilities) -- Last edit: 2015-09-12 01:25:47 |

Thanks, tv boy. The rounded angle of the wheel arches / fenders and the flattened shape of the hood would confirm the GMC idea, in my eyes. (A bucolic wander on a smoldering battlefield: no doubt, this scene comes from M.A.S.H. ) -- Last edit: 2015-09-13 02:56:56 |
