C-Series with a Fleetside bed

1960-66 model with the 1964-66 "flat" windshield and what seems to be the 1965 cowl side logo (half painted?). It has apparently the 98"/2.49 m bed and the 127"/3.23 m wheelbase of a long C-10 or of a C-20.

Definitely not a long bed so just C-10.

Black makes look slim ;)
Are you really sure of a 115"/2.92 m wheelbase // 78"/1.98 m bed model, somename? I think we must beware of that black painting and of the viewpoint: when looking at the space between the cab and the rear wheel arch, I find it really more close to one of the 127" wheelbase models...

(1965 short C-10 // 1965 long C-10)

100% positive.

Look at the overhang behind the rear wheel; it's a short bed.

I don't see so much difference when comparing with the picture of the long bed I provided... The black color could be misleading, I think.

(Could you please stop change the identification of this truck each time you comment, at least until there is no doubt at all that it is a short C-10 or not? I set it back to generic C-Series as for the moment, there is only one idea vs. another: I admit you could be right, but changing the ID the way you do it doesn't really help for having a constructive and open exchange...)

[Image: i835857copy.jpg] Unquestionably a short bed.

Ok, I give up. The difficulty is apparently not to have a constructive exchange, it is to start a real exchange at first :D

The hard part is the size ratio between long bed and short bed. The secret is the length between the rear of the cab and the wheel arch.

Eventually you will pick it up after practice looking between two bed sizes.

@eLMeR: does your hometown has two different van length even though it looks the same?

I think I start to see the difference, now. But I find this truck really deceptive with this black color which hides a lot of details...

I'm sorry, rjluna2, but once again I'm afraid not to understand that question... When saying "hometown", do you mean "country"?

I was just imaging the Citroën H series van with two different chassis length. Does it exist?

Yes, rjluna2, it happened that in our homecountry we had that kind of stuff, the Type H for instance, yes.

Most of French vans have several lengths indeed: Renault Trafic, Renault Master, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Jumper for the recent ones. Old generations of Master and Trafic too (I don't remember having ever seen LWB models of older Boxer or Jumper vans), as well as old models like the Citroën C35 or Saviem/Renault SG2. And the Type H of course, as already cited by DidierF. Even smaller models (Renault Kangoo, Citroën Jumpy and Peugeot Expert) have 2 available lengths.

But (if it was the purpose of the question) the change in wheelbase / overall length doesn't / didn't imply a change of model name, for these vans. A change, if any, would be more likely due to a different engine, and gives/gave no bigger difference in the name than the one existing between a Ford Transit 3.7 and a Transit 3.5 Ecoboost.

Any other views of this truck? Looks like 3/4 ton hub caps and I am not convinced of the long bed from this view. I realize the black tool boxes distort the perspective. Any other views?

^I counted the pixels proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that the wheel opening and the distance from the back of the cab to the wheel opening are equal.
Watch it yourself if you insist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJEw73c_sts you have to verify your age and the scene starts at 00:33:31
By the way: it's a 62/63 by the windshield.

Better pics help to get better identification :)
1960-63 windshield + sharp hood end of a 1962-66 truck indeed. The cowl logo is the one of a 1962 only model, which better explains its thin shape...

(But I'm still not convinced by the 115" wheelbase ;) )
