Facelifted version from September 1968 onwards. Looks like a deluxe. Also a Mk2 estate in /images/034/512.jpg behind the farting Citroen. |

Most probably built in Amsterdam. |

Agreed - Cortinas were assembled in Amsterdam from 1967-75, which I assume was the source of all European LHD Mk2 and Mk3 production, though can't confirm. |

Does someone know what happened to the Amsterdam plant afterwards? I know they assembled the rather unsuccessful Ford Transcontinental truck until ca. 1983, but afterwards it was closed or sold, I guess. |

Closed in December 1981, torn down and disappeared http://www.fordtranscontinental.nl/engels/amsterdam.html |

Mike, and what car manufacturers are currently in the Netherlands? |
◊ 2010-07-24 19:22 |
Mmmmm. Cortina badly damaged, 2CV apparently unscathed..... |

@Gomselmash11: DAF still makes trucks, as do Terberg and GINAF. The ex-DAF car factory became Volvo and later Nedcar, building some Mitsubishis and Smart Forfour, there is Spyker (of course), Donkervoort, Burton and some very marginal productions like Link to "www.autoblog.com" ... |

Many thanks Mike, a bit sad what happened to the Ford factory and the Netherlands industry here . Here also disappeared several manufacturers with the crisis of the '90s. -- Last edit: 2010-07-24 19:54:36 |
