A Model A would have the fuel cap on the cowling yes? This appears not to have one.

I think you are correct - probably not a ford.

It is, in fact, a 1931 Ford Model A. That exact year; the blacked in grille surround gives it away.

definitely NOT a ford model A. the hood and grill shell are model A, but the body is a different make. the body is most likely a dodge.

I just saw the movie, this car had an oblong emblem over the grill, white with black lettering, but I couldnt make out the name, probably a Dodge logo.

My best guess is a 1929 or 30 Nash.....

I think it's a '63 Ford Fairlane

I found an EXACT match! It is a Dodge Bros. Fast Four Sedan from 1928:

Fenders are slightly different in my link, but that's probably because of the way the car is parked.

Cars from those years all looked the same. But for sure it is not the same 1928 Dodge Brothers as in above link...

Shade over the windscreen, matching windows, big bulgy strip in the side...This is clearly a Dodge Brothers.

nzcarnerd would you agree with me on the Dodge Bros?

You are about forty years out. Every car since 1970 looks the same.

Yes the cars of the 1920s all have different body mouldings and particularly in the later part of the decade some makers changed the styling in mid season. There are clues to individual years in the styling of visors, lights and radiators etc. Other clues when there is a suitable view are in tyre sizes, spoke numbers, and the number of fixing bolts on the rim and the hub. Also whether or not it has front wheel brakes.

This car is, I think, a 1930 Plymouth. Clues; it has no cowl vents or cowl lights which make it a lower price model. The centre door hinge is in the moulding. The radiator is not clear enough to see and I think the headlights are not original.

That must mean there's a front view. :)

You mean like a Renault 5 and a Lincoln Town Car? I TOTALLY can't tell them apart! They look SO MUCH alike! [:kiki]
