A couple of years ago I saw a very rough brown/maroon Crown Vic at the yard of the company that supplied some of the cars for this movie, and under the flaking paint I could see parts of this paint scheme. According to their inventory catalogue it was a 1998. I checked the VIN also and it was a P72. But again, this may not be this actual car if there was more than one of them in the film.

Looking at the ebay pictures from your Taxi, I can see both the brown and blue checker paintjobs underneath.
