Only seen on a DVD menu page - not included in any of the films. And it's our first pickup. Sept-Nov 56 plate so a very early one - possibly a launch car. Only 477 made - "This model was not very successful, there were two main reasons for this. The load capacity was very small, and in fact the two rear wheel-arches were covered in so they could be used as a bench seat. Because of this the HM Customs & Excise decided to classify the vehicle as a car, which meant that Purchase Tax had to be paid." - http://www.austinmemories.com/styled-33/styled-35/index.html

Several survivors today - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQZ_tbM4RLk . Also apparently one was souped up as a circuit racer in late 1950s (Downton engine, wire wheels, bucket seats etc) by Newcastle BMC dealer Murray & Charleston. Registered TTN1, it could do 100 mph and was once stopped by police on the A1 for doing that speed on its way to a race circuit, which was illegal for a commercial vehicle, but the mechanic revealed two old bus seats under the tonneau which made it a passenger vehicle. With the tax classification as a car, this was OK in those days before the 70 mph limit. It still survives, though now with another registration.
