Yep, that's what they said, Joe. The very mean (and superlatively stupid) killers' car. -- Last edit: 2015-06-02 17:43:50 |

Once again, there were no 1975 Sevilles, just early 1976 models. None. Nada. Zip. Zilch. (Why must we go through this with every one of these?) This one has a 1977+ grill. |

Then tell me why the reference sources I am looking at show 16,000 units produced in 1975, 43,000 in 1976, 45,000 in 1977, and 56,000 in 1978.... -- Last edit: 2015-06-04 05:35:17 |

"early 1976 models". It's right there in my reply. |

We agree to disagree |

No, you're wrong. We've had this conversation at least 18 other times on the site, and never once did anyone find a 1975 Seville. Even Wikipedia finally has it correct with the model years being 1976-79 for the first generation. Here are some of the other discussions we've had about this: /vehicle_246818-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_177074-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_697784-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_484808-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_296626-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_80996-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_408917-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_653501-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_382952-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_31387-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_367577-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_665231-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_50822-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_632844-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_352463-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_224149-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_74324-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html /vehicle_798900-Cadillac-Seville-1976.html |

I believe you...I was not using Wikipedia as a source..It was actual flesh and blood books... And if you don't believe the books...perhaps you will believe this website 1975.... Link to "www.automobile-catalog.com" -- Last edit: 2015-06-02 20:17:46 |

That website is not reliable. He uses the same faulty information that has previously been debunked. There is a difference between calendar year and model year, as one of the many discussions we have had prior (did you even look at them?), the Seville was introduced in April 1975, but none were sold as "1975 Model Year". I have books too, from the Standard Catalog of American Automobiles 1946-1975, page 122, "The Seville was introduced as a downsized 1976 Cadillac in April 1975. It appeared in dealer showrooms the first day of May." |

Nope, just hate ignorant people spreading bad information. |

I updated the information box at the Wikipedia that listed model years 1976-1979 for the first generation. Maybe I should fix the first generation title there |

Personalities aside, guys. One need only to consult the NADA Guides. All Sevilles built in calendar 1975 were VIN-coded as 1976 models. Since nothing is more authoritative than the federal government required VIN numbers, that ought to settle the matter. A 1975 model car could not possibly have a 1976 VIN code. |

So that's like the story of the 1964 Mustang? |
◊ 2015-06-03 00:34 |
Not just a normal story, more of a nightmare ... |
◊ 2015-06-03 02:37 |
Amen to that, dsl |

Ah! But the secret to dealing with a nightmare is knowing when to wake up. |

Just a question. What's the difference between 1978 and 1979 Cadillac SeVille's? |
◊ 2015-06-06 05:58 |
Don't know of any visual difference between those last 2 years for this body other than perhaps color choices. |
