If you opted for a black grille you received black bezels. If you opted for a chrome grille you received chrome bezels. Quote new truck poised to launch for the 1980 F100 F150 model year, updates to 1979 were minimal. All F-Series trucks and trim levels received the rectangular headlights to go with the redesigned grille from 1978. If you opted for the chrome grille, you also got bright (chrome) headlight surrounds. The Lariat trim returned, but a new factory CB radio option made the available equipment for the F-Series trucks that much sweeter. from the 1979 page.
