The raised hood because "Arnie" was originally an off-road race vehicle and championship winner. There are a LOT of non-standard modifications, including Series 3 axles and a massive aviation turbocharger. There is also an additional home built instrument panel with gauges and controls for the turbo and other parts of the engine, in addition to the factory panel.
