LS is a later name of the 700: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_700 Luxus seems to be one of the versions of the LS: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_700 But I do not think that "limousine" is part of the name, it just indicates that it is a german sedan |

Sorry Antoine, but the "LS Lexus Limousine" is the genuine name of this version born in 1962 in the 700 range, but which didn't wore the "700" number. (according to my sources) |

I didn't say that LS was wrong, I just said that the name changed at a time, to reply to jplemoine that was asking why not "700" I agree for LS Luxus (Luxus seems to be one of the LS version, the sedan version I guess as it is opposed to the LS Coupé, cf Wikipedia German link). I just say that this "Limousine" seems too much: as I said previously, books about old cars tend to make long descriptive name. In this case, not many results for that full name: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22bmw+ls+luxus+limousine%22 Note that I didn't change the name of this one, I just added my comment. I do not know who renamed it to "700 LS", which is false, I agree. -- Last edit: 2007-01-15 15:07:48 |

Wir sollten aber trotzdem bei 700 bleiben, um ihn wieder finden zu koennen. Vergiss die Wikipedia in diesem Fall. Ist nicht wichtig. BMW 700 LS |

Sorry Ralph, I thought that someone renamed it by misreading my comment So Wikipedia is not exact for that one? When you have few time you could correct the article (as it is in German, I cannot do it) Do you have some info/images about the name of that car? The only thing that I found is this: http://www.philseed.com/images/bmwlsluxus-jr.jpg and as Sixcyl's book also said "BMW LS Luxus"... -- Last edit: 2007-01-15 20:58:53 |

This is to complex, so i can't this say in english. For this is my engish to bad. (but I want to try it) BMW LS Luxus is also correct and not correct! LS meens Luxus Super or Limousine Super or ?. CS (3200) was at this time Coupe Super. All BMWs have at this time the engine-cc in the name. BMW LS Luxus isn't a completly BMW name, and was only because BMW wanted to build a larger (4-cyl) engine into the 700er. After that was not made, were the BMW again a 700. By the BMW Clubs, we say for all this cars BMW 700. And i think, for imcdb it is also the best, we give one car one name. -- Last edit: 2007-01-18 22:44:48 |
