is this a kind of contradiction ? a " S " getting a TDI engine ? |

Not really the TDI has more torque than the TFSI that is in the american SQ5. Also Diesels are way more popular than gasoline engines in Europe, especially in SUVs. |

i guess its my North American roots that makes me think that way...diesels engine left me the memory of some underpowered vehicles struggling to get to the speed limit except for Mercedes and the one that BMW recently added to their line-up ( can add VW/ Audi now that there is a turbo on it ) -- Last edit: 2015-03-27 19:30:44 |

VW is now advertising a twin turbo 2 litre diesel with about 230 bhp. It's being fitted in the Passat estate car, if they also offer it in the Golf that should go well! My Mercedes has the 2.2 litre diesel with 170 bhp, this is also a twin turbo unit, which can be bought with 205 bhp, no doubt more to come. |
