There is a stop on delevering orders from lease companies in December. This is done, so that the cars ordered in the last month are now delivered in January. That is better for the resell value. I also think a lot of people think alike when buying a new car and postpon it to the next year. If you look at the selling rates, december is by far the worst month. About a quarter to a third from the normal montly sales. January in contradiction is by far the best month for car sales. Sales are usual 100% or more above the normal montly average.... |

Damn... This car still exists! Runs on LPG now. It's a 1980 Opel Rekord 1.9 N btw. ![]() |

I think this version was just badged and sold as Rekord 1.9. |

If you check the licenseplate (FP-60-YD) at RDW (Link to "www.rdw.nl"), you see that is says it's a 'REKORD 19 N'. In The Netherlands, the 1.9 Rekord was only available as 1.9 N: Link to "www.autoweek.nl" |

The Opel models from this period had "economical" low-compression engine versions in their range. It happened with the Rekord, the Kadett, the Corsa, etc. As I said, I think these N versions were simply sold as base versions - for instance there was a 2.0 and also 2.0 S and 2.0 E versions, badged this way. In other situations, a version was designated as Base or Basic, but it was just sold with the model's name without any additional trim level. |
