Eight Model Y.

Interesting to compare with the Morris Eight on the right.

Please correct this. Not a 7Y, a Y. The 7Y was completely different in appearance.

The 7Y Eight and the 7W Ten introduced in 1937 the sleeker, but heavier, body design that became Anglias and Prefects until 1953, and then soldiered on until 1959 as the Popular 103E. There were two wheelbases, the Prefects being six inches longer to accommodate the Fordor body, although the prewar ones could be Tudor, even on the longer chassis. The mechanicals were first sold as the Y Eight in 1932, and the C Ten a couple of years later. So the 1959 Pop was a 1934 engine in a 1937 body.
