Queen Elizabeth II visiting the Colony of Aden in 1945.

This should solve it in seconds (at least when our British car experts arrive) Link to "www.theeastindiacompany.com"

Okay, so she wasn't Queen yet. Here's another picture: Link to "i.pinimg.com"

Gamer’s car in the photo from his link does have the words “Super Snipe” on the bonnet. There is no doubt that the car is a big Humber, but are the various pictures showing one and the same car? The main looks rather Pullman-ish to me.

BTW - HM the Q was Princess Elizabeth in 1945, her Pa, George VI was still in the top job.

Looks mid-50s in main - 1945 Rootes-jewels still had separate front wings, there's a chrome stoneguard on rear wing, and the single short chrome strip on front wing. Gamer's first link looks correct, and 1952-53 Super Snipe MkIV. Two royal Super Snipe convertibles (1948 and 1953 cars) were used on the 1954 Commonwealth tour, taken in the Brittania, and this looks like the 1953. I'm guessing Tickford as likely converters, but unconfirmed.

See also this one - either the same car or a local lookalike.

The Royal Yacht Britannia was only used for the final North Africa to UK homecoming leg, the main part of the tour used the SS Gothic an up-rated passenger-cargo cruise ship and interim Royal Yacht. As such it would have plenty of room for one or more cars for royal use.
