DOW was a County Borough of Southampton series that commenced in April and finished in September of 1946. The font is not English style, and probably doesn’t match the car anyway. |

No expert, believe me! I like to stick with identification of cars from what they look like, in any case preferring to look at the past rather than modern times. I may not be able to tell if a car is trimmed in reversible wren’s egg nutsack with inspissated gussets, (W Heath-Robinson, “How to be a Motorist”), but I usually go for cars that I have a fighting chance of recognising.
