Despite the registration date December 1972 being after the cab redesign in September 1972 this is possibly the earlier BMC style of rounded front cab. The more rounded front wings, just visible in the picture were common to both early and late cabs on heavier versions. The rear wings may indicate an earlier truck but not definitely.

From the CM archive article above "The cab used throughout the range is the G Series all-steel tilt cab", it appears therefore Leyland applied the G-series cab name before the redesign and not at the same time, as listed in AR-OnLine's Light Trucks web page.
