What a difference in damage between those the cars, the Dodge is nearly unharmed and the austin is very badly damaged. I but it would not get 1 star in the NCAP crash test!

No, he was in the car, but was replaced with a large dummy for the crash from behind. He is then helped out afterwards by the occupants of the other two vehicles.

Yes, indeed! And his amusement flowed on to the Charger driver (although the AMC occupants looked very concerned); incidentally, the Charger driver is Tom Syslo, one of the film's camera operators and brother of Director of Photography Tony Syslo.
