If sold in Europe the chromed grill and the raised hood/bonnet would indeed have pointed towards 264. However in North America they skipped the numbers for a while (between 1980 and I believe 1985) and only used some letters. Also: most models had a raised hood/bonnet. Volvo DL usually had a black grille. Volvo GL had a chromed grille, but still the four cylinder fuel injected B21F or B23E engine. Usually equipped with velour upholstery.
