Hmm... doesn't look like an Opel to me. Different rear door and bumper (note the placement of the number plate), the handle is at the wrong place, no visible fuel filler... How about an Austin A95 Countryman? |

Wow, someone input Opel Caravan without even commenting... Agreed on A95 Countryman, which seemingly makes it the first on site -- Last edit: 2014-09-13 23:35:39 |

Very nice find. Production was 1,998 via a contract with Jensen (compared to 26,067 Westminster saloons at Longbridge) and perhaps explaining the fairly high price - £1216 against £1043 for saloon (Jan 57). I wonder how many were sold in N?? This was the only UK estate on this A40/A50/A55 (Mk1)/A95/A105 sequence, although there was a 1957 Nissan Austin A50 Cambridge Van [VA50] - /vehicle_631337-Nissan-Austin-A50-Cambridge-Van-VA50-1957.html , http://www.austinmemories.com/page117/page117.html which seems a J-only local design from the duck-tail A50, so not the same body. Also "A small number of Countryman models were made from CKD Kits in Australia and some were re-badged as the Morris Marshal [another source gives a combined figure for both Aus versions as about 400]. There were 10 A105 Countryman built with one having an automatic transmission." - http://www.acwcc.org/Pages/26/1956---1959.html . |

...sorry. I was sure about the Opel. Now I see I was wrong. Forgive me. |
