The photograph very neatly discourages the eye from estimating the length of the bonnet. It can only be either a 4/50 or a 6/80, the smaller car had only one spot light, but one could have been removed from the larger car to fit the bell. As a police car, the 4/50 would be restricted to chasing horse drawn coal carts or criminals escaping on milk floats. |

This may or may not be reliable, but our 4/50s seem to have either no sidelights or big ones - eg /vehicle_34176-Wolseley-4-50-1949.html with comments there that 4/50 grille was narrower than 6/80. This one looks very like this 6/80 for grille width and sidelight size - /vehicle_110989-Wolseley-6-80-1951.html in a film date of 2006 - as this is a 2005 film, it could be the same actual car?? |
