The Jeans were 1200, not 1300 |

Should Jeans be an extra info or part of the model name? /vehicles.php?resultsStyle=asImages&yearFrom=&yearTo=&makeMatch=2&make=&modelMatch=0&model=Jeans&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=on&modelInclExtra=on&class1=1&origin=&madein=&madefor=&role= |

This 1974 was internally named 'S761 Jeans' I would have listed 'Jeans' as extra info, but 'Jeans' was marketed as a part of the model name, it seems? http://www.jeansbeetles.com/Images/campagne1200.jpg (This is an ad for a 'S716 Jeans') But as a 1200 only in the database (well the Norwegian anyway, no more info from Dutch database either): Merke og modell VOLKSWAGEN VW 1200 Kjøretøygruppe Personbil Registreringsår 1975 Antall seter 5 Farge Oransje |

As "Jeans" was the name for this special edition, it belongs to the model name. Interesting, that the Jeans-Käfer on the advertise in you link has the alloys of the 1972 "Weltmeister"-1302. I thought, it always had the optional steel wheels as the car on the main pic. Wiki says: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/VW_K%C3%A4fer#Jeans_1974 So Schuco is wrong: Link to "www.galerie.1zu87.com" |

Wiki also claims that they all had 12 volt onboard, H4, heated rear window as well. The first ones didn't. I don't trust Wiki. The later 1974 Jeans (S714 German maket, S716 for export) had the Champions as standard. Then the 1975 'S744 Jeans' reverted to the Lemmertz GT. The S744 are commonly referred to as Jeans III, as 1974 gave you two versions. |
